Essential Job Functions

• Respond to fire emergencies as a trained Fire Fighter
• Respond to other emergencies including response as a confined space rescue team member
• Respond to Security calls, incidents, and events
• Respond to Emergency Medical calls and provide First-Aid
• Stand an access point post, determine access, and direct traffic
• Communicate in clear understandable English language by two‑way radio, telephone, computer, and hard‑copy written information
• Record and disseminate appropriate information regarding access
• View, recognize, and act on appropriate security issues from active observation and by utilizing the CCTV camera displays
• Review, check, and process entering and exiting personnel for rule compliance
• Check, process, and activate access controls involving automated gates
• Monitor, interact, and respond in a timely manner to the fire alarm system electronic notifications
• Ensure guest and employee Safety and Security
• Conduct investigations and write clear, concise reports
• Enforce company policies and procedures
• Ensure facility security
• Engage in positive Guest and Team Member interaction, under all types of conditions
• Provide and portray customer service and hospitality through consistent demonstration of the ten essential attributes
• Ability to handle extremely stressful situations
• Conduct foot and vehicle formal fire‑watch patrols utilizing electronic recording devices
• Drive a department patrol vehicle on public and private, improved and unimproved, roadways, trails, paths, including mountainous terrain
• Drive, position, and operate the department’s fire apparatus under routine and emergency operations

• Maintain professional calm demeanor during encounters with guest, visitors, or team members
• Maintain professional (clean, neat) appearance
• Work independently with minimal supervision

Working Hours:

Shifts (7:00 am‑3:00 pm), (3:00 pm‑11:00 pm), (11:00 pm‑7:00 am)

• Firefighter / Emergency Medical Service and/or Law Enforcement / Military experience preferred
• Security service experience preferred

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. required

• Ability to effectively communicate verbally, both in person and on the telephone
• Report writing skills

• Current certification as a WV Firefighter Level 1 or higher
• Must have the ability to achieve confined space entry and rescue certification
• Current certification in a recognized Basic First-Aid program or higher (such as EMT)
• Current certification in a recognized Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) program
• Ability to obtain American Hotel and Lodging Association Certified Lodging Security Officer certification or an equivalent certification
• Must achieve and maintain all training and technical requirements as listed in this EJF
