Responsible for the sales, rental, and leasing of Stoughton trailers. The BSM has overall responsibility for branch sales, operations, and performance. Conducts sales activities in a local territory, maintains, develops, and grows customer base. The position manages company resources to maximize profit, but also to exceed customer expectations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Rent trailers to the transportation marketplace.
- Conduct personal sales calls, marketing, and relationship building with the customer base.
- Long‑term leasing of trailers; responsible for meeting a lease revenue target of one million dollars per year.
- Sell new Stoughton trailers within the territory.
- Purchase and resale of used trailers in the branch territory as opportunities arise.
- Market ancillary services such as collision damage waiver and protected trailer parking.
- P & L management: predict and react to financial results.
- Perform tasks safely, efficiently, and accurately per company policy.
- Contribute to team effort to produce quality products.
- Attend work hours regularly and maintain good attendance.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Prepare and maintain handbooks.
- Make a total of 40 personal sales calls per week, with 20% scheduled appointments.
- Practice consultative sales philosophy in presentations.
- Manage territory effectively, delivering a logical sales plan each week.
- Travel overnight as needed within the branch territory.
- Log all sales calls and activity into the CRM system; submit previous week's data by Monday.

QualificationsEducation:
Bachelor’s degree or a successful track record in sales to the transportation industry.
- Strong relationship management skills with branch employees, customers, and vendors.
- Business acumen and understanding of profit motives and drivers.
- Deep understanding of profit drivers required for the BSM role.
- Experience selling value‑added services; ability to showcase company services on sales calls and presentations.
- Excellent conflict‑resolution skills; resolve disputes amicably.
- Occasional trailer check‑in and check‑out at rental.
- Assist operations manager during crises to maintain high customer service.
- High proportion of cold calling in a large branch territory.
- Strong work ethic.
- Desire to achieve, aiming for six‑figure plus earnings.
- Ambitious: willing to go above and beyond what is expected by the customer and the company.
