Overview
RN Treatment Nurse - FT - Nursing Home (1611962) at Starr Regional Medical Center
Responsibilities- Demonstrate adequate clinical skills by including the holistic resident in assessment and care of the resident according to established policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate awareness of aging as a unique development stage, implementing nursing interventions appropriate for the stage, including communication and psychosocial skills.
- Demonstrate adequate skills in documentation to provide charting in a clear, concise, legible, and objective manner as related to care plans, summaries, MARs, physician orders, and all required documentation.
- Evaluate physical and/or emotional states of each resident during rounds, notifying the Director of Nursing and physician of any adverse changes in resident condition.
- Demonstrate knowledge of nursing care in the geriatric health care setting with compliance with all state, federal and Joint Commission regulations.
- Contact physicians promptly when necessary concerning resident care.
- Demonstrate awareness of personal abilities and limitations by requesting assistance in situations exceeding abilities.
- Utilize principles of resident confidentiality and privacy at all times including the use of doors, cubicle curtains, drapes and gowns.
- Utilize principles of asepsis and infection control in the performance of resident care and equipment maintenance according to established policies and procedures.
- Complete all documentation and assigned work in a timely manner.
- Demonstrate the ability to function in an efficient manner in critical situations.
- Demonstrate knowledge of safety precautions when transferring, lifting, or moving residents or other objects.
- Demonstrate knowledge of safety, infection control, and isolation procedures; consistently washes hands as needed.
- Demonstrate adequate knowledge of medications, side effects, contraindications, administration and interactions, using aseptic technique when preparing medication.
- Demonstrate good managerial judgment by encouraging individual accountability for job performance by staff assigned to supervision of charge nurse.
- Demonstrate adequate supervisory skills, with emphasis on instruction and evaluation of personnel.
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program
- One (1) year nursing home experience preferred
