Mountain Youth Academy is centrally located near Johnson City, TN, Boone, NC, and Abingdon, VA. We are a 120-bed residential treatment facility and assist in the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of behavioral health issues for our young adolescent patients. A Registered Nurse (RN) in a Residential Treatment Center (RTC) position is primarily responsible for assessing patients' conditions, administering medications, providing necessary care based on treatment plans, educating patients and families about their treatment, and maintaining detailed medical records, all while prioritizing the unique needs of individuals in a residential treatment setting;
this includes fostering open communication with patients, their families, and other healthcare team members.
- Patient Assessment and Monitoring:
Regularly evaluate patients' physical and mental health status, including vital signs, behavioral changes, and potential withdrawal symptoms. Observing patient interactions and identifying potential issues requiring interventions. Documenting patient observations and progress in medical records. Rounding to assess compliance of precautions/observations. - Medication Administration:
Accurately administering prescribed medications and treatments according to physician orders. Monitoring for potential side effects and adverse reactions to medications. - Treatment Plan Implementation:
Participating in development of individualized treatment plans for each patient.

Qualifications- Completion of an accredited Registered Nursing program and licensed (or license eligible) in the State of Tennessee
- Associate Degree
- EMR Electronic Medical Record
- Phlebotomy
- Knowledge of Mental Health Disorders
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of Psychotropic Medications Phlebotomy
- Exceptional ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats.
- Strong Interpersonal and organization skills.
