Production Manager Your Role And Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to support production process definition to ensure optimization of cost, quality, and on‑time delivery of product. Each day, you will participate in the sequence definition, cycle time calculation, and analysis of the working phases of new production processes/products. You will also showcase your expertise by sharing cycle time data with internal teams.

The work model for the role is:
Onsite, Selmer, TN.

This role is contributing to the success of ABB's Busway business in Selmer, TN.

You will be mainly accountable for:
  • Provide on‑floor technical support during setup, changeovers, and production ramp‑ups.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment, process, and quality incidents to minimize downtime.
  • Execute and support corrective actions from root‑cause investigations and failure mode analyses.
  • Maintain and update process documentation, standard work, and control plans.
  • Train operators on procedures, equipment operation, and safety practices.
  • Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, quality, and supply chain to implement process improvements.
  • Collect and analyze production data to identify trends and recommend capacity or yield improvements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects, including kaizen events and 5S activities.
  • Typical environment is a production facility with standing, occasional lifting, shift work and required PPE.

    Powerpoint;
    Outlook.
Qualifications for the role:
  • Prefer Associates degree or higher in manufacturing technology, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of hands‑on manufacturing, production support, or equipment troubleshooting experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with common production equipment and industrial controls.
  • Computer skills; ie:
    Excel;
    Word;
    Powerpoint;
    Outlook.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to train others.
  • Proficiency with basic data analysis and production metrics.
  • Working knowledge of root‑cause tools such as 8D, RCA, or Fishbone analysis.
