SUMMARYThis position works directly with all phases of Injection molding including startup, operation and maintenance of machines, automated conveying systems, auxiliary equipment, air compressors, liquid chillers, and robotic parts removal.
We currently have 2nd shift opportunities available. These are 12-hour shifts with an alternating schedule and working hours are 7 to 7. The alternating work week schedule includes every other weekend (36 hours one week/48 hours the next).

SUMMARYThis position works directly with all phases of Injection molding including startup, operation and maintenance of machines, automated conveying systems, auxiliary equipment, air compressors, liquid chillers, and robotic parts removal.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Conduct operations in accordance with safety requirements.
- Responsible for loading molds onto machine platens and sets up machines to run quality parts.
- Responsible for process development of new molds and process optimization of existing molds.
- Can start all plant equipment from a cold shutdown, including molding machines, robots, chillers, air compressors, material handlers/conveying equipment, air conditioning units, and the process monitoring system.
- Ensures that assigned machines are operating within established parameters and control limits and that parts conform to established specifications.
- Performs minor tooling maintenance and repairs.
- Troubleshoots mold problems and modifies molding processes.
- Start all department equipment from cold start or standby.
- Ensures all facets of the quality and manufacturing systems are followed and adhered to.
- Assists with routine plant maintenance activities, including molding machine/robot preventive maintenance (PM), barrel/screw change-outs, material conveying system (PM), facility auxiliary equipment, etc.
- Assists in equipment installations, project preparations, and project completion.
- Maintains a clean work area and follows proper safety procedures.
- Arrives at work on time and complies with company attendance and tardiness policies.
- Possess ability to get along with co-workers, customers, and company visitors.
- Performs other duties assigned by Supervisor.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCETechnical School Certificate with 1-2 years’ experience in machine maintenance or mechanical aptitude; or High school diploma with 2-3 years technical or machine maintenance experience; or GED with 5-6 years technical experience or equivalent on the job training; or a combination of education and experience and/or training.
LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and understand complex instructions such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
REASONING ABILITYAbility to carry out detailed, complex oral or written instructions. Ability to apply problem solving techniques to address complex issues.
OTHERSKILLS and ABILITIES
Ability to work in a team. Understand machine functions and troubleshoot effectively.
PHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, but will be on their feet during 90% of the workday.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Items that are extremely heavy (over 50 lbs. up to 100 lbs.) are transported by using assistance. When assistance is required it is defined as using a team lift (another person), hand truck designed to move material, forklift, overhead crane or other material handling equipment.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
