Mueller Water Products is the nation's leading manufacturer of flow control devices for the water and gas distribution industries and has an immediate opening for a Materials Planner in our newest Kimball, TN facility. , you will be responsible for planning/scheduling, creating Work Orders, and following up on workflow status to ensure production schedules are maintained to meet customer request dates. The professional in this position will be a critical component in building the Mueller capabilities at the Kimball facility. This is a unique opportunity to build the operation through the implementation of systems, processes, and production schedules.

• Scheduling, confirms material supply and demands, prepares work orders based on a master production schedule, shop load, and inventory requirements.
• Advises Supervisor of the status of work in progress, material availability, inventory levels, and potential production or material supply disruptions to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided on-time and at an optimal cost.
• Takes corrective action for problem resolution including unexpected parts shortages, bad or defective inventory, rescheduled inventory and/or any problems related to production.
• Tracks schedule reliability, working with production to fill gaps in the schedule.
• Coordinates interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, demand planning, etc.
• Monitors and verifies work order transaction accuracy and completion.
• Understands the dynamics of effective teamwork in order to attain higher levels of performance.
• Understands lean manufacturing and can demonstrate various lean practices.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Able to communicate at various levels within the organization.
• Ability to effectively work in a team. Knowing role on team, based on project/task with a wide degree of creativity and latitude.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully achieve goals through influence.
• Ability to adapt to system/technology changes as well as use of current systems.
• Strong organizational skills.
