Quality Technician 2 – 1st Shift

Join the new role at Mac Lean Power Systems, a leading manufacturer headquartered in Fort Mill, South Carolina. MPS is recognized for mission‑critical components across the electric utility, telecommunications, and civil markets, and operates nine North American production facilities.

Job Summary
Assist in quality control processes to ensure compliance with quality and reliability standards.

Responsibilities

  • Test products and services, analyze results, and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure products and services meet specifications.
  • Use required gaging instruments and maintain their calibration.
  • Manage, maintain, rebuild, and repair gaging equipment as needed.
  • Run and monitor inspection equipment to record and review quality data.
  • Purchase gaging supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and recommend modifications to standards, methods, and procedures.
  • Complete all necessary documents accurately.
  • Adhere to 5S standards and maintain cleanliness of the work area.
  • Follow all safety, environmental, and quality policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Perform work under general supervision.
  • Handle moderately complex issues and refer more complex issues to higher‑level staff.
  • Possess solid working knowledge of subject matter.
  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and 3 to 5 years of experience.

  • Ability to interpret work instructions.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
  • Basic verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem‑solving skills.
  • Analytical thinking skills.
  • Advanced use of required gaging instruments and the application of such instruments.
  • Ability to successfully pass required vision tests.
