Machine Operator 2nd Shift (4x10 Schedule)
Mueller Water Products is the nation's leading manufacturer of flow control devices for the water and gas distribution industries and has an immediate opening for a Machine Operator in our newest Kimball, TN facility. , you will play an integral role in one of the final stages of our production process. Proper testing ensures that our products are at their best ensuring that they will serve our customers for years to come.
- Operate mills, lathes, rubber, paint, blast, laser, and brake press machines
- Loads or feeds mechanism by lifting stock into position
- Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces.
- Maintains specifications by observing machine operation process; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions.
- Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Documents actions by completing production and quality logs as directed
- Will be required to cross train and work in other departments as needed
- General math skills with the ability to understand measuring/measurement concepts and their applications.
- Familiarity with basic tools of measuring and when to use for inspection of parts.
- Must be organized, detail oriented.
- Ability to read and use micrometers, calipers, and other quality tools
- Standing for long periods and lifting up to 50lbs.
- Experience in an industrial and/or manufacturing type environment.
- Work Safely in the Manufacturing Production Environment.
- Follow detailed verbal / written assembly instructions, processes, and procedures.
- Read and understand work orders and assembly instructions.
- Prepare and assemble materials and parts in a manufacturing production environment.
- Move, process, and organize materials and manufactured products.
- Perform quality control checks and verification of work order specifications.
- Properly fill out basic forms, reports, and label products correctly.
- Communicates and works effectively with others.
- Report problems with quality, processes, equipment and materials to Supervisor.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions.
