Maintenance Assistant​/Grounds Keeper

The Maintenance Assistant/Grounds Keeper is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the facility grounds and equipment, including mowing, trimming, landscaping, planting, mulching, shrub maintenance, policing of the property, parking lot maintenance, and other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Director. Other duties could include electrical and plumbing repairs and maintenance as well as conducting a variety of preventative and restorative maintenance duties as listed below.

• Assisting the Maintenance Director with preventative and restorative maintenance including mechanical, electrical and plumbing repair.
• Weekly checks of all rooftop equipment.
• Repair requests for assigned areas including repair of wheelchairs, beds, light fixtures, etc.
• Patching and painting walls, replacing ceiling tiles and electrical outlets as needed.
• Running ethernet and coax cable when needed.
• Reporting and recording information pertaining to preventative maintenance.
• Keeping facility grounds clean.
• Assisting with setting up special activities and resident room changes.
• Upholding facility policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Two years of grounds maintenance experience.
• Experience in mechanical, electrical and plumbing repair.
• HVAC and general contracting experience is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Availability to work weekends as necessary.
• Ability to perform the physical job demands of the position.
• Ability to exercise confidentiality to ensure compliance with all HIPAA regulations.
