Position Overview
Candidates must possess a solid understanding of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to effectively troubleshoot and repair complex equipment. The role supports the safety and reliability of nuclear and hazardous chemical processes on site.
Location:
On‑site, Erwin, TN
- Perform repair work as requested and approved by minor work order.
- Perform work on fissile uranium‑bearing equipment in a manner that ensures nuclear safety.
- Perform work on hazardous chemical equipment to protect employees and the environment.
- Install or modify plant equipment as specified and approved by major work order (pipe fitting, plumbing, masonry, carpentry, flooring, ceiling, electrical, welding, machinist).
- Understand and follow engineering drawings and circuit diagrams.
- Perform gas and electrical welding as required (excluding pressure vessels).
- Perform preventative maintenance on plant equipment.
- Perform welding, cutting, or spark‑producing work in a manner that prevents fires.
- Shutdown, start‑up, or repair equipment to mitigate hazards or damage.
- Move containers and equipment.
- Prepare accurate and legible records associated with assigned jobs.
- Keep work area clean.
- Follow standard operating procedures, authorization letters, special instructions, radiation work permits, and welding permits.
- Take and pass written and hands‑on assessments covering welding, electrical, and other maintenance skills.
- Associate degree or certificate in a craft/technical field or completion of an approved 4‑year apprenticeship program. Additional training in welding, electrical work, HVAC systems, or chemical processing systems is required. Skills will be verified through a Skills Assessment.

Pay: $36.04 per hour. The total compensation package may also include a full range of medical, retirement and other benefits, details of which will be provided to selected candidates.
