Travel Implementation Technician Location & Schedule
On-site at East Tennessee headquarters (Greater Knoxville area). Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.
-5:00 p.m. (typical). Travel across the U.S.
Up to ~60% (usually 1-2 trips/month, 2-3 weekdays per trip; occasional Sunday night departures).
About the RoleOur client is adding a Travel Implementation Technician to a high-growth healthcare technology team that delivers an automated inventory control and charge capture solution for hospitals and clinics. You’ll build, stage, and install hardware and supporting technology at customer sites, working closely with project managers, sales, and site contacts. This is a hands‑on role for someone who loves learning, problem‑solving, and representing the organization with a customer‑first mindset.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Stage & build implementation hardware (racks/shelves, scanners, controllers, peripherals) prior to deployments.
- Install & configure equipment on customer sites; mount devices, connect power/data, and run functional tests.
- Travel nationwide to complete installations and site support (air/hotel provided).
- Coordinate with PMs, sales, fabrication shop, and site stakeholders to keep timelines on track.
- Verify & document inventory, configuration, and test results; elevate issues and drive resolution.
- Support post‑install technology checks and light troubleshooting; contribute to continuous improvement.
- Foundational IT knowledge equivalent to Helpdesk/Desktop/PC Tech/AV support or completion of A+ / Network+ coursework/certifications or an Associate’s in IT (or similar).
- Comfort with PC hardware setup, basic networking, device configuration, and installing peripherals.
- Strong customer service skills including de‑escalation, clear communication, and professionalism.
- Ownership mentality
—proactive, resourceful, and able to solve problems independently on the road. - Valid driver’s license; ability to travel with short walking/standing/occasional lifting during installs.
- CompTIA A+
- Experience with desktop configuration and field implementations.
- Basic familiarity with inventory systems or healthcare environments.
- On-site at the client’s headquarters to build, test, and stage equipment; run inventory and coordinate with fabrication.
- During travel, you’ll unbox, mount, connect, and test equipment; occasionally help load shelves with product.
- You’ll be the face of the client at customer sites—professionalism and a solutions mindset are essential.
- Typical trips are planned in advance; last‑minute travel is rare.
- Per diem for meals (e.g., ~$40/day) and mileage/gas reimbursement for eligible travel, with prompt reimbursement per company policy.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Powell, TN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 – $21.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
