Overview

Under general supervision, responsible for custodial work of average difficulty in common areas and guest rooms. This classification is responsible for the appearance and a high standard of cleanliness of the guest rooms, public areas, meeting space, linen closets, and exterior of the Lodge. Guest Room Attendants refresh rooms for guests who are continuing their stay, and thoroughly clean rooms of guests who have checked out in preparation for the next guest checking in.

Performs general cleaning of rooms or projects as assigned.

Responsibilities

Leaves lodge rooms and cabin facilities clean and stocked by making beds, dusting furniture, vacuuming, emptying trash, and straightening work areas. Performs deep cleaning activities periodically, including shampooing carpets, washing walls and windows. Leads others in duties such as sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, stripping, waxing, and buffing floors. Uses appropriate cleaning chemicals on surfaces to ensure sanitation without damage.

Communicates clean rooms back into inventory to front desk personnel to inform early check-in availability.

Maintains appearance of public spaces by keeping hallways and lobbies uncluttered and neat, including keeping carts in front of guest room doors, preventing cart damage, and policing grounds for trash and maintenance needs.

Executes in-house laundry requirements for cleaning rags, terry, or other cleaning tools as necessary and appropriate.

Ensures proper inventory, organization and maintenance of cleaning supplies by stocking carts and closets with housekeeping supplies.

Provides customer service by responding to lodge guests efficiently and in a friendly manner. Keeps noise to a minimum in corridors and honors any do-not-disturb sign on lodge room doors.

Bags, tags and turns in all lost and found items immediately to Supervisor.

Inspects rooms and communicates maintenance work-order requests to the Chief of Maintenance or building maintenance staff.
