About the role:
We are looking for a full-time Family Mental Health Guide to support our patients and their families. Our patients are children, teens and young adults living with serious mental illness, treated by a multi-disciplinary team of clinicians. You will be the front-line relationship with the primary family member, providing support, companionship, and coaching as they care for their adolescent during our yearlong treatment program.
Caregivers are often overlooked in pediatric mental health care. This role provides non-clinical, virtual support and is built as a sustainable, long-term career within the team.

- Apply experience with structured, manualized interventions to support caregivers of children with externalizing behaviors, offering consistent coaching and guidance
- Be adaptable to workflow changes in a growing clinic and prioritize as needed
- Be a steadfast, caring, non-judgmental presence, supporting patients and families as they navigate daily life with a serious mental health condition
- Co-develop and support adherence to individualized care/engagement plans aligned with patient needs and goals
- Utilize app-based messaging and phone calls as primary engagement tools
- Identify needs and provide mental health advocacy in areas such as school or work
- Participate in a multidisciplinary team; lead care coordination including scheduling and communication for clinical appointments
- Act as a conduit to the full care team; proactively identify needs for additional support and connect to appropriate providers
- Provide in-person coverage to support patient engagement with the virtual clinic when the assigned family guide is within a 2-hour radius and no other guides are available nearby
- Open to individuals with Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degrees
- 5+ years of experience in a relevant field; including 3+ years working with caregivers of children with serious emotional disturbance and providing guidance and practical support
- Bonus points for experience or interest in working with: children or adults with serious mental illness; adolescents, young adults, and families; underserved communities with complex family situations; bilingual Spanish and English; or lived caregiver experience
Guides will have family-facing time and protected non-family facing time for collaboration with the care team and administrative tasks. Availability:
Mondays 8:30am-5:00pm or 9:00am-5:30pm EST;
Tuesdays 10:30am-7:00pm EST;
Wednesdays 8:30am-5:00pm or 9:00am-5:30pm EST;
Thursdays 10:30am-7:00pm EST;
Fridays 8:30am-5:00pm or 9:00am-5:30pm EST
