Part Time – Integration LCSW – Veteran Affairs Outpatient Clinic
Valor Healthcare is looking for a passionate Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or equivalent counselor/therapist (LPC or LMFT) to join our team at the Veteran Affairs (VA) Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) in Harriman/Roane County, TN. In this role you will be working primarily in our primary care mental health integration (PCMHI) team seeing an all adult veteran patient population for services similar to intake.

This position is part time – 16 hours/week. Clinic hours are Monday through Friday, 8 AM – 4:30 PM. We can be flexible on schedule within these parameters.

- Performs initial and follow‑up evaluations, including assessments.
- Engages the veteran, core, and expanded PACT team members in treatment planning.
- Provides a range of treatment services, including individual therapy.
- Focuses on behavior activation and short‑term needs for a range of physical and behavioral health issues (e.g., diabetes, heart conditions, depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders).
- Provides evidence‑based psychotherapies as appropriate.
- Provides emergency care, as needed, for all patients enrolled in the CBOC, including referring patients for emergency primary care treatment, psychiatric medication evaluation, or coordinating admissions to an inpatient psychiatric unit.
- Provides crisis intervention services, coordinates family conferences and serves as liaison to family members.
- Provides case management to veterans and families as needed throughout the continuum of care.
- Addresses issues such as advance directives and organ donation in accordance with acceptable standards.
- Inputs all patient information into VISTA/CPRS.
- Completes any and all clinical reminders “due” at the time of each patient visit.
- Participates in program planning and development, making recommendations for changes in policies and procedures.
- Collaborates in performance improvement processes and complies with performance measures as required by Valor and the VA.
- Participates in activities that obtain feedback from veterans and works to enhance services as needed.
- Complies with all Valor and VA training requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Compliance: fulfills OIG, JC, EOC oversight, lab compliance and related items.
- Clinical outcomes: remains focused on achieving excellent outcomes through VA guidelines.
- Customer service: provides excellent service to each veteran and family, both in person and over the phone, and to colleagues and clinic visitors.
- Collaborates with clinic leadership to resolve veteran concerns or complaints.
- Enrollment growth: participates in clinic outreach events to support enrollment initiatives.
- Retention: supports patient enrollment and retention in appointments, follow‑up visits or nurse visits.
- Strategic initiatives: embraces and supports new clinical or operational initiatives.
- Must have one of the following educations:
Doctoral degree in psychology from an APA‑accredited program, PCSAS program, or CPA program; or a Master’s degree (or higher) in Social Work from a program registered by the Department of Education, with specific training dealing with adult patients. Equivalent degrees (Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, etc.) will be considered and are subject to final approval by the local VA. - Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted LCSW (or equivalent) license in the state of desired employment and be able to practice independently at the master’s degree level.
- Minimum of 1–3 years’ post‑master direct counseling experience with adult patients.
- Must be credentialed and remain in good standing through the Veterans Health Administration (VA).
- Current certification in Basic Life Support, renewed as required.
- Strong computer skills, including EMR experience.
