Program Overview
CHD’s Shared Living program provides an alternative residential setting to the 24‑hour group home. This model offers individuals receiving services through the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) an opportunity to live with someone who wants to incorporate an individual with intellectual disabilities into their life and home.
ResponsibilitiesProvide shared living care tailored to the individual's needs, including meal preparation, medication management, financial transactions, transportation to appointments, and offering social engagement and community support. The provider is expected to join the individual in social activities and daily household routines, help relieve anxieties, and act as a source of informal counseling and guidance. The role may require daytime support and some evenings/weekends as relief.
Qualifications- At least three years of experience working with DDS clients or mental health individuals in human services.
- Calm, clean home environment suitable for a shared living arrangement.
- CPR certification.
- Past experience as a shared living provider or foster parent.
Tiered salary starting at $30,000 annually, based on client needs and DDS approval.
