Description

Core competencies are:

Provides for the individual rights of patients receiving services of the medical center.

Directs/provides for the appropriate assessment and re-assessment of patients, including collection of historical data, observation of the patient's physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs as they relate to the patient's age.

Provides appropriate therapy based on the individual patient's assessed needs.

Provides healthcare education to patients and/or families pertinent to assessed educational needs.

Provides continuity of care by enlisting the services of other healthcare team members to plan a timely and trouble-free discharge to the level of care appropriate to the patient's condition.

Manages the patient's care to ensure patient safety and to minimize risk to the patient, family, and the organization.

Manages the patient's environment of care and care unit to ensure environmental safety.

Manages time and supplies efficiently in the care of the patient to ensure cost-effective and efficient use of resources.

Communicates pertinent information to appropriate individuals involved in care of the patient.

Accurately documents the activities of rehab in the patient record in a complete and timely manner.

Possess necessary knowledge use of patient/organizational information systems.

Demonstrates safety in infection control and Haz Mat practices.
