Community Manager (Full-Time)
Mountain Youth Academy (a UHS company) is seeking a Community Manager to join our growing team for evening and weekend shifts. In this role you will make a difference in the lives of young adolescents and love what you do.
Position SummaryManages the overall milieu of patients on the assigned community. The Community Manager is responsible for program scheduling, creating, organizing, and implementing activities that support therapeutic treatment goals and meet the standards defined in Program Fidelity and the overall Therapeutic Program. The Community Manager acts as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team, providing continuous patient care, observation, interaction, and role modeling.
The Community Manager supervises staff to ensure adherence to program, unit schedules, and Mountain Youth Academy’s policies and procedures, while upholding Service Excellence Standards.
- Develops and executes evidence‑based therapeutic/educational activities that improve patient functioning. Participates in collaborative planning with ADRS, DRS, DCS, DON, Providers, and Risk/PI departments to ensure unit activities support approved Program Fidelity and the overall therapeutic program. Completes accurate and timely documentation for group notes and activity logs.
- Manages all aspects of and facilitates unit activities, ensuring staff follow activity schedules and guidelines. Develops, plans, staffs, and executes program schedules, outings, and incentives. Provides guidance and supervision for organization and cleanliness of the community.
- Provides appropriate crisis intervention as necessary by anticipating and responding quickly to escalating behaviors, using de‑escalation techniques to diffuse situations, correctly prioritizing safety concerns, following restraint guidelines, and displaying neutral emotions.
- Trains, educates and develops milieu staff to equip them with the knowledge and skills to perform their duties. Serves as a role model to staff and patients in dress and demeanor. Exhibits consistently strong professional boundaries in all interactions.
- High School Graduate/GED with one year of Health Care Experience required.
- Verbal de‑escalation skills to assist residents in regaining control of behaviors.
- Working knowledge of CARF and HIPAA policies and procedures.
- Possess critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to instruct and coach others on effective verbal de‑escalation and crisis intervention techniques.
