The Senior Staff Nurse – Haematology/Oncology position is available at the Private Care at Guy’s, part of London Bridge Hospital, London.
This full‑time role offers 37.5 hours per week, a permanent contract, and a competitive salary with excellent benefits.
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Senior Staff Nurse to join our specialist cancer nursing team. This state‑of‑the‑art cancer centre has been rated Outstanding by the CQC and is one of the UK’s most advanced private oncology facilities, offering a full range of services including theatres, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and dedicated oncology and surgical wards.
As a centre of excellence, we deliver pioneering treatments such as robotic surgery, JACIE‑accredited stem cell transplants for blood cancers and Multiple Sclerosis, and revolutionary bispecific antibody therapies—available exclusively in the private sector through our hospital.
ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will play a vital part in providing holistic, high‑quality care to patients across all stages of cancer treatment. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, you will support patients receiving chemotherapy, radiotherapy, targeted therapies, and other Systemic Anti‑Cancer Treatments (SACT).
Key responsibilities include assessing, planning, and implementing personalised care plans; safely administering treatments; managing complex symptoms with a focus on pain control, nutrition, and emotional support; advocating for patients to ensure their physical and psychological needs are met with empathy and professionalism; and, as Charge Nurse, leading shifts, making dynamic decisions, collaborating on staffing, and assuming clinical responsibility for patients undergoing transplant and those experiencing oncological complications.
Qualifications- A current NMC Nurse registration
- Experience in chemotherapy administration
- Post registration experience within haematology or oncology setting or equivalent
- Clinical skills in venepuncture, cannulation, and intravenous drug administration
