THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a IT SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN) (TITLE
5), Position Description Number NGT
5240P01 and is part of the TN 134th ARW, Air National Guard.
This vacancy is covered by Association of Civilian Technicians (ACT), Chapter 114 (Smoky Mountain Chapter).
DutiesAs an IT SPEC (SYSADMIN), GS-2210-12, you will serve as project leader responsible for developing, assigning, and coordinating duties and projects for systems administrators. Serve as the senior systems administrator responsible for planning, coordinating, modifying, implementing, and troubleshooting to support customer needs. Plan and schedule the installation of new or modified hardware, operating systems, and software applications. Troubleshoot problems and implements changes on multiple computer platforms.
Perform other duties as assigned.
- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- May be required to successfully complete a trial period.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- Incumbent must complete appropriate training and obtain required certifications IAW DoDI 8140 or DOD 8570.01M or applicable governing document(s) for Cyber workforce as an IA Technician Level within 9 months.
- Work may require access to classified information. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
- The incumbent of this position description must have at a minimum, a completed National Agency Check (NAC) prior to position assignment.
- Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
- The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.
- This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration.
- Applicant must complete a Baseline Pre-Placement Screening for General Schedule positions within 30 days of appointment.
- Acceptance of a Federal position may terminate Tricare Reserve Select eligibility.
- For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver’s license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.
