Financial Manager, Corporate Finance
This is a full-time, on-site position located at our Vonore, TN, factory and brand headquarters. The Controller for our Master Craft segment oversees all financial aspects of the brand and will provide thought leadership to and be a participant of a senior leadership team for the brand. There will be oversight and control of the accounting close and brand FP&A activities to include our regular cadence of strategic plan, budget, forecasts, annual pricing and monthly reporting processes.
A successful leader in this role will partner with other functional leaders within the segment to drive better data collection, streamline reporting capabilities, and improve accuracy that will help influence short-term and long-term decision making for the business.
- Oversee brand accounting resources and processes to ensure the monthly financial closing is timely and accurate while also maintaining compliance with internal controls. Prepare and sign off on judgmental reserves.
- Drive brand FP&A processes to include 3-year Strategic Plans, annual Budget, and monthly forecast reviews and present output to segment and corporate leadership teams.
- Oversee the processing and payment for all invoices for the Master Craft segment and continue to look for opportunities to further enhance efficiency in accounts payable.
- Engage in the oversight of companies’ inventory levels to ensure the company has properly balanced levels of inventory to meet production requirements while also maintaining proper controls including physical inventories, cycle counts and other material variances.
- Help maintain and develop internal reporting processes that drive business results forward (ex: sales, market, orders, margins, etc.); partner with segment functional leaders.
- Create annual segment pricing models helping to ensure accurate and successful MY and NPD pricing rollouts.
- Manage capital requirements for the business and tracking against budgeted goals. Help ensure that capital appropriation requests are filled out timely and properly. Help in monitoring that financial targets set into these requests have proper tracking to ensure the business can achieve or exceed expectations.
- Monthly and quarterly reporting to include various bridging and variance analytics.
- Participate on a senior leadership team helping drive results across other areas to include Operations, Sales & Marketing, Service, Engineering, Logistics, and Supply Chain.
- Partner with auditors to ensure information requests are completed timely and accurately.
- Manage and develop finance department staff to improve the talent within the organization while balancing workload.
- Ensure Master Craft segment processes are aligned with MCBH SOX requirements.
- Coordinate and submit data for SEC reporting purposes; partner with MCBH finance team.
- Assist with other projects and requests as necessary.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required: MBA, CPA, and/or CMA is preferred.
- Minimum of 4 – 6 years’ experience in accounting and finance; marine experience a plus.
- Experience working in a manufacturing operation is preferred.
- Public accounting experience preferred.
- Knowledge or exposure to continuous improvement methodologies.
- Knowledge of GAAP and other accounting standard requirements.
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections.
- Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Team oriented, ability to handle multiple tasks and work independently.
- Ability to work with data and be able to create simple reports from data being analyzed.
- Experience working in financial systems and/or consolidation systems a plus.
- Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
- Microsoft Office with a heavy emphasis on advanced Excel knowledge.
- Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.
- Working knowledge of internal control processes/SOX compliance.
