- Returning Co-op Mechanical Engineer - OUTAGE HELP –
Note:
this role requires completion of at least one co-op term with PCA. - Project Engineer Co-Ops – Immerse in a high-energy, innovative culture, doing meaningful work, managing projects, and making decisions from the moment you walk into the Mill. Interact with PCA personnel in Engineering and Operations to sharpen communication and leadership skills. Work on various Capital projects throughout the mill; each semester varies with outage time frames and project mix. Learn the project process from funding request to completion, including planning/estimating, engineering design, contractor field oversight, AutoCAD, PCA s CMMS (TRIDENT), Microsoft Office, and cross-discipline teamwork.
- Reliability Co-Ops – Immerse in a high-energy, innovative culture, doing meaningful work, and making decisions with PCA personnel in Maintenance and Operations to sharpen communication and leadership skills. Be mentored by Area Reliability Engineers, work on special projects, and develop responsibility and communication abilities. Focus on predictive and preventive maintenance techniques to improve equipment reliability (e.g., lubrication, optical alignment, vibration analysis).
Learn best-practice maintenance and assist in root cause failure analysis. Explore a variety of equipment and working environments. Second and third term students may receive additional duties to further development.
- Must have completed at least 1 semester as a co-op at PCA.
- Must be currently enrolled at a 4-year university and majoring in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with at least freshman-year completion, and a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0. Must be a permanent U.S. resident. Preferred institutions include Mississippi State University, The University of Mississippi, Auburn University, University of Alabama, University of Maine, North Carolina State University, Texas A&M University, University of Miami Ohio, Tennessee Tech University, or any University of Tennessee.
