Safety and Loss Control Consultant

• Conduct loss analysis and research prior to performing on-site occupational safety and loss prevention surveys
• Prepare and submit reports of findings to management, making recommendations for safety improvements
• Evaluate policyholder safety programs and work sites for hazardous conditions
• Develop cost‑effective methods to correct hazardous conditions
• Communicate safety issues and solutions to policyholders and underwriters in a timely manner

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required, preferably in safety, industrial hygiene, engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of two years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid occupational safety management or consulting experience
• Knowledge of workers’ compensation laws, policies, and principles of insurance and risk management
• Ability to compile, analyze, and report on findings effectively
• Must hold a valid driver’s license and be able to safely operate a motor vehicle

• Master’s degree in Safety or Industrial Hygiene from an accredited college or university
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or other relevant certifications
• Experience mentoring and guiding others in safety and loss control
• Familiarity with Federal OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and NFPA standards
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
