Primary Responsibilities
- Supervise and assist with the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical and or electronic control systems.
- Provides leadership and documentation of all PLC preventative maintenance.
- Lead and assist Engineers and contractors in the design and development of related equipment schematics to NEC and applicable code requirements.
- Develops standardized work plans and utilizes disciplined and proven problem-solving techniques to determine root cause analysis for equipment downtime and recommends specific process improvements.
- Responsible for process engineering and to provide technical support for plant manufacturing
- Leads the training and implementation of kaizen events and supports, contributes and routinely demonstrates lean manufacturing principles.
- Partners with plant manufacturing on continuous improvement projects to improve performance and profitability.
- Complies with policies and procedures pertaining to facility or divisional adopted standards, such as ISO 14001 Environmental Policy, IATF Quality System.
- Performs other related engineering duties as assigned.
- May, on occasion, be required to perform duties other than those specified in this description.
- PLC programming experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in an applicable Engineering field.
- 3-5 years electronic controls experience in one or more major PLC platforms
- Documented experience with troubleshooting and training PLC utilization
- Knowledge and familiarity with ITAF
16949 Quality System and ISO 14001 an asset. - Direct knowledge of Electrical codes and standard.
- Requires the ability to work a flexible schedule with OT as needed to maintain production equipment uptime.
- May include periodic short duration of travel.
- Exposure to manufacturing plant environment including: moving mechanical parts, non-hazardous fumes, airborne particles, heat, frequent standing/walking, and moderate noise level.
- Must wear proper personal protection equipment while on manufacturing floor
- Equipment used requires proper training on the potential for and avoidance of injury.
