- Leads planning and execution of capital and cost improvement projects in coordination with site resources. Responsible for timely, professional completion of projects that meet objectives and come in at or under budget.
- Ensure compliance to all safety policies and procedures. Establish, support and maintain a “safety first” culture.
- Accountable for the safety of all employees/contractors for whom they are responsible through active engagement in safety activities and provide clear, consistent communication of safe work expectations.
- Supports and investigates situations in which line/equipment stoppage occurs due to perceived, imminent safety risk.
- Actively leads risk assessment activities for their area of responsibility by driving prioritized corrective and preventative actions to eliminate/reduce environmental, health or safety risks.
- Lead all required meetings with safety (i.e. Pre‑shift, Department Change Management, General communication, Town Hall, etc.).
- Completes incident investigations, root cause analysis and implements corrective actions accordingly in a timely and thorough manner.
- Understand and fully utilize all ISO procedures.
- Leads implementation of assigned projects ensuring on time completion, project objectives met, and at or under spending target.
- Manages projects start to finish and ensures efficient use of labor, capital, and other resources.
- Identifies and initiates improvement projects that help meet site goals.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance and other departments to understand requirements and scope of project.
- Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements.
- Determines project schedule by reviewing scope of project, calculating time requirements and sequencing project activities.
- Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities and resolving project conflicts.
- Controls expenditures within limitations of project budget.
- Prepares interim and completion project reports.
- Partners with EHS&S for site regulatory compliance.
- Provides and maintains drawings and other needed documentation and assists with identification of spare parts.
- Ensure ISO compliant records are maintained.
- Trains manufacturing resources to ensure successful startup and operation of new equipment.
- Support and maintain a culture of continuous improvement, quality, high performance and process excellence.
- Maintains a team effort attitude and approach.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- BS in Engineering or related field required or equivalent combination of experience and education which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities, PMP preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years in Project Engineering or related field in a manufacturing environment, preferably extrusion, textiles or paper.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of standard office machines and computer software including Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint.
- Knowledge of standard accepted troubleshooting, repair, reliability and effective planning & labor utilization strategies.
- Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA and EPA laws, standards and regulations governing manufacturing sites (29 CFR 1910).
- Working knowledge of manufacturing industry (non‑woven or textile‑related preferred).
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Exceptional negotiation skills.
- Strong understanding of basic physics, engineering, chemistry, electronics. Create and read blueprints.
