2125- 852 - General Laborer

DeRoyal, delivering high quality medical products and innovative healthcare services, is actively searching for a General Laborer to join our Property Management team.

• Perform a variety of tasks involving manual labor on construction projects. Perform manual work in preparing for construction sites.
• Ability to work from blueprints or instructions from supervisors.
• Measures, marks, and arranges materials.
• Cuts, fits, and assembles wood and other materials for the construction of buildings, industrial plants and many other structures.
• Sets forms for concrete constructions, erects scaffolds, frames walls or partitions, puts in doors and windows, builds stairs, installs or hangs cabinets, and does finishing work such as installing interior and exterior trim.
• Ability to hang drywall.
• General understanding of electrical wiring.
• HVAC understanding- and ability to work with others certified in HVAC.
• Understand and fix minor plumbing issues – faucets and toilets.
• Replaces panes of glass, doorknobs and ceiling tiles as well as furniture repair.
• Assists in moving and installing manufacturing equipment.
• Effectively and safely uses the tools of the trade, such as chisels, planes, saws, drills, sanders, ladders, and nail guns, including a familiarity with metal studs.
• Ability to multi-task multiple projects, and often changes from residential to commercial construction or remodeling work.
• Maintain a clean job site; pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards.
• Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Bring problems to the attention of Office Manager, Director of Risk Management or Chief Administrative Officer.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess mechanical aptitude and have the ability to multi-task multiple projects.

Exposure to forklifts and scissor lifts required.

This position includes driving and a valid driver’s license is required. Position does include repetitive motion.
