About the role

An experienced personal care assistant is required to support a female client with multiple sclerosis. The post is exempted under the Equalities Act 2010. Possible overtime may be available.

Key responsibilities
  • Develop a reliable and trusting relationship with the client.
  • Communicate effectively and build a good rapport.
  • Assist the client with household tasks and independent living skills.
  • Provide all aspects of personal care, including showering, dressing and monitoring skin integrity.
  • Use mobility aids such as wheelchairs and hoists safely.
  • Support the client with outings to nearby shops.
  • Provide companionship and social interaction within the client’s home.
  • Ensure the client’s safety at all times during working hours.
  • Carry out any reasonable tasks requested by the client.
  • Manage safeguarding concerns and report to the relevant authority if required.
  • Contact the GP, Social Worker or Local Authority if the client requires medical assistance.
Candidate specification
  • Responsible and honest.
  • Proactive and self‑motivated.
  • Good local knowledge of Tenby.
  • Excellent time‑keeping and flexible regarding working patterns.
  • Able to develop a supportive and consistent relationship with the client.
  • Full, clean driving licence and car suitable for business use; vehicle insurance must allow work use.
