Tenafly Public Schools is seeking a dynamic, student-centered educational leader to serve as our next Middle School Vice Principal (Grades 6–8). This is a full-time, 12-month leadership opportunity.
We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, builds strong relationships, and understands that grades 6–8 are pivotal years for academic growth, identity development, and belonging.
QUALIFICATIONS- Valid New Jersey Principal or School Administrator Certificate (or eligibility) required
- Successful teaching and/or leadership experience at the middle school level preferred
- Demonstrated experience in student discipline, supervision, and instructional leadership
- Partner with the Principal to lead a high-achieving, inclusive middle school community
- Foster a positive school climate where every student feels safe, known, and supported
- Lead student discipline with a restorative, growth-oriented mindset
- Support teacher development through instructional leadership and feedback
- Collaborate with families as authentic partners
- Oversee key operational systems that keep the school running smoothly
- Use data to drive decisions and improve student outcomes
- Support supervision, scheduling, and daily school operations
- A visible, approachable leader who connects easily with students and colleagues
- Calm under pressure and skilled at problem-solving
- A strong communicator who values transparency and trust
- Experienced in middle school education (preferred)
- Committed to equity, belonging, and high expectations for all learners
- Energized by collaboration and continuous improvement

$132,000 - $142,000
The salary range reflects the anticipated base compensation for this position. Final salary placement will be determined based on the selected candidate's relevant education, years of experience, and alignment with the District's negotiated salary guide and placement practices.
