RN Charge Ortho Trauma PCU

Baylor Scott & White Health Medical Center is seeking a Full Time Charge Nurse to join our Ortho Trauma Progressive Care Unit (5 South). The #1 city in the nation for Nursing opportunities and advancement. Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital is a 636-bed specialty care teaching hospital and the only Level 1 Trauma Center between Dallas and Austin.

Full Time - 36 hours per week

This is a 35-bed monitored nursing unit that provides the opportunity to work with a wide variety of patients ranging from adults to Geriatrics. The conditions that are within the scope of service include the following but are not limited to:

• Post ICU trauma patients (serious traumatic injury to 2 or more body systems)
• Complex Plastic reconstructive surgeries (including reconstructive flaps and graft sites, post cancer reconstruction, and trauma related reconstruction)
• Complex ENT patients including free muscle flaps and neck dissections.
• Complex ENT reconstructive tracheostomies and laryngectomies
• Traumatic Complex Fractures and musculoskeletal wounds
• Elective Joint Replacements - Rapid Recovery Program
• Sports Injuries
• Spinal Deformities
• Complicated Pelvic, Hip, and compression Fractures
• Skeletal Malformations and Abnormalities
• Amputations and Prosthesis
• Neurosurgery, Vascular Surgery, General Surgery
• Medical/Surgical patients including those requiring Telemetry

• Graduate of RN School of Nursing
• ADN required
• Active RN License
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Required or BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer

• EDUCATION - Grad of an Accredited Program
• MAJOR - Nursing
• EXPERIENCE - 2 Years of Experience
• CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION - Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS or BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer
