- Assure all sanitation staff work safely and use proper PPE.
- Direct staff to meet all sanitation requirements on every shift.
- Develop, publish, maintain, and approve plant-specific cleaning and sanitation procedures, records, and standards for bottled water and beverage production, ensuring compliance with Niagara Corporate Quality cleaning and sanitation policies.
- Ensure the cleaning and sanitation requirements are met for the entire plant, including microbiological sampling/testing, verification and validation.
- Support the QA Department with GMP, FDA, SQF and co‑packer audits.
- Develop and track metrics—including chemical cost, CIP frequencies/times, microbiological test results, and GMP plant audits—to monitor cleaning and sanitation performance.
- Work with approved chemical suppliers and plant teams to conduct verification and validation of cleaning and sanitation.
- Troubleshoot and solve food safety and quality issues.
- Confirm the plant uses approved chemicals for cleaning and sanitation.
- Implement a cleaning and sanitation Training Program covering chemical safety, CIP/COP basics, external cleaning, sanitary maintenance oversight, and more.
- Provide environmental oversight of sanitation processes and alert the Plant Engineer to potential wastewater or discharge issues.
- Maximize the use of Niagara’s document control software, quality systems, or other CIP monitoring software for sanitation/cleaning documentation and record keeping.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

- Minimum:
- 6 years in a field or similar manufacturing environment.

- 4 years managing people or projects.
- Experience may combine work experience and education.
- Preferred:
- 10+ years in a field or similar manufacturing environment.
- 10+ years in a sanitation or related position.
- 6+ years managing people or projects.
- Experience may combine work experience and education.
- Experience with automated and manual CIP systems.
- Sanitation audit experience, including equipment specifications and sanitary process design.
- Ability to make independent judgments on sanitation procedures, forms, policies, and standards.
- Capable of working with minimal supervision.
- Effective interaction with all levels of the plant.
- Willingness to embrace personal and professional development.
- Performs work without direct supervision.
- Handles complex issues and brings in additional resources as needed.
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Team collaboration.
- Attention to detail and organization.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
- Minimum required: Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Quality, Biological Sciences, Engineering, or related field.
