Mental Health Technician - Nghts
Join Canyon Creek Behavioral Health, a 102‑bed acute care psychiatric hospital located in Temple, TX, and work within our individualized units for adolescents, adults, and seniors.
Responsibilities- Act as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients ranging in ages from adolescent through geriatrics.
- Work under the direction of a Registered Nurse and support the therapeutic goals of the unit.
- Uphold an environment that puts patient care first, providing excellent care, comfort, and security to patients and families during their most vulnerable times.
- Receive supportive and responsive leadership from a large network of peer co‑workers who routinely exchange ideas and review current topics within the industry.
- Take advantage of robust continuing education options and opportunities for skills diversification and career advancement with Universal Health Services.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required. Certified Nursing Assistant preferred. Degree in social work, recreational therapy, or an appropriate therapeutic discipline highly desirable.
- Minimum one (1) year of related experience with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques and understanding of mental illness, preferred.
- No licensure required.
- Must complete Handle with Care Training, Service Excellence Training, and CPR certification during orientation.
- May be required to work weekends, overtime, nights, and have flexible hours.
