Finance Director, Regional

Job Summary

The Regional Director of Finance plans, organizes, and oversees activities related to financial management for Baylor Scott and White Health (BSWH), including financial planning and analysis, accounting, patient financial services, budgeting, external financing, treasury, investment, reimbursement, and financial and accounting systems. The role develops, interprets, and implements financial concepts for financial planning and control, performs in‑depth analysis to assess present and future financial performance, provides financial oversight of major BSWH business initiatives, and presents financial recommendations such as plans, proposals, trending reports, operating forecasts, joint venture structuring, and acquisition analysis.

The director researches rates of return, depreciation, revenue recognition, working capital, investment opportunities, and the impact of government requirements, establishes and implements financial operations policies, and develops programs to monitor and measure the execution of financial plans to ensure BSWH operates in a financially responsible manner.

A regional Director translates and implements strategic plans and objectives for the area of responsibility, makes final decisions on operational matters, recommends policies and organizational changes, plans and executes projects that meet annual objectives, and leads and advises subordinate(s) to meet schedules, resolve technical problems, and monitor performance. The role oversees a larger, more complex organization or functional area than a manager, often supervising one or more managers or supervisors.

• Directs the financial planning and budgeting processes for the assigned area of responsibility within BSWH.
• Develops and recommends strategic and operational plans and priorities for finance that are aligned to BSWH overall business objectives.
• Directs the analysis and interpretation of financial results and creates financial performance plans for senior leadership in support of BSWH business objectives.
• Leads accurate, timely, and relevant financial reporting to various audiences for assigned areas within BSWH.
• Monitors financial activities, reporting, and transactions to ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements.
• Establishes and maintains financial policies, procedures, and practices for the assigned area of responsibility that ensure consistency with BSWH overall standards and guidelines.
• Evaluates financial operations for adherence to predetermined operational goals and develops operational improvement plans as appropriate.
• Develops and implements financial calculations, metrics, and dashboards to provide operational updates on revenue, costs, productivity, and variances for the assigned area of responsibility within BSWH.
• Develops and maintains a system of internal controls to safeguard financial assets of the organization.
• Directs the coordination of independent auditors to ensure successful completion of periodic audits and resolution of audit issues.

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in finance management, accounting, or related area.
• Experience in a leadership role preferred.
• Experience implementing large complex financial initiatives or projects simultaneously.
• Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
