TECHLITE® is a Tempe, AZ-based manufacturing company that specializes in producing melamine foam for insulation and acoustic products. We are looking for an Industrial Maintenance Technician Level III to join our team and grow with us! We're a subsidiary of The Zippertubing® Company, a privately held, family-owned company.
We are looking for a highly motivated Industrial Maintenance and Facilities Technician to join our Team. This is a full-time onsite position primarily at our Tempe facility, (Priest & University area) Monday-Thursday Day shift. (5:00am to 3:30pm)

The Industrial Maintenance Technician Level III will perform skilled work in the maintenance, construction, inspection, and repair of buildings and equipment; perform maintenance tasks in the electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, roofing and facilities trades. Troubleshoot and repair problems with buildings, equipment and effect repairs; maintain supply inventories; enter and complete records of repairs and equipment maintenance. This role will manage any outside contractors and support their Manager with remodel projects.
The role uses fundamental knowledge of OSHA regulations; uniform building codes; standard practices, materials, machines and processes of the electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting trades; and hazard communication laws, methods, and regulations. The Maintenance Technician III operates with limited supervision and demonstrates sound judgment. This position involves interacting with a manager several times a week, once trained, to receive guidance and feedback.
Many non-routine tasks require prior approval. The technician must be able to work from schematics and equipment manuals to perform necessary tasks and repairs. Clear and respectful communication with internal clients and coworkers is essential. Additional related duties and special projects may be assigned as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect buildings, equipment, and systems to identify any issues.
- Repair faulty or down equipment promptly using the correct parts.
- Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment and maintain records in the computer system.
- Plan and schedule repairs for equipment, as well as for the interior and exterior of the buildings.
- Maintain the inventory records for equipment and supplies.
- Perform general building maintenance tasks, including electrical, plumbing, painting, and carpentry.
- Act as POC and project manager for facility and grounds remodel projects.
- Supports and offers training to other technicians.
- Supports the safety team with a safety-first mindset.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Knowledge of high, low, and control voltage ranging from 120v 480v required.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics required.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role.
- Advanced understanding of building procedures and ability to manage outside contractors when needed.
- Effective project management and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and the ability to read and understand equipment guides and building schematics.
- Communicate with stakeholders.
- Must be well-organized and can prioritize tasks.
- Must be a self-starter and work well with minimum supervision.
- Experience using an Aerial Lift, or willing to be certified.
- Mark Andy printing press experience is a plus.
- Canon UV Flatbed printer experience is a plus.
- Industrial paint booth experience is a plus.
- Maintenance experience with 2,3 and 5 axis CNC cutters is a plus.
While performing the duties of this job, the work is performed partially in an office setting, some work is performed on the production floor, and outside in weather conditions. The employee works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate and occasionally loud when using tools.

Throughout a 10-hour shift, the employee may occasionally be required to stand, walk, use their hands to finger, handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with their hands and arms.
