Position Overview

We are seeking a General Foreman to join our team. The General Foreman plays a pivotal role in leading and supervising electrical projects, acting as the key link between field employees and upper management. This position ensures project efficiency, safety compliance, and resource allocation while fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leads and manages field crews, including Apprentices, Journeymen, and Foremen, ensuring project execution meets quality and safety standards.
  • Oversees daily project operations, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicates effectively with Project Managers, Superintendents, and upper management regarding project progress and challenges.
  • Allocates manpower, tools, and equipment to optimize project productivity.
  • Coordinates with General Contractors, subcontractors, and stakeholders for seamless project execution.
  • Plans and schedules electrical installations from layout to final inspections, maintaining accuracy and compliance.
  • Mentors and trains field employees, promoting professional development and technical growth.
  • Resolves conflicts and addresses on‑site issues to maintain a productive and positive work environment.
  • Participates in project planning meetings, offering insights to enhance project outcomes.
  • Implements industry best practices and company standards to ensure project efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent certification.
  • Ten (10) years of experience in the electrical construction industry, with leadership experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Preferred:

  • Experience with budget management and resource allocation.
  • Experience managing multiple mid- to large‑scale electrical projects.

OR an equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience that results in the successful performance of the job. Additional education may substitute for required experience on a one‑for‑one year basis or vice versa.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience with budget management and resource allocation.
  • Experience managing multiple mid- to large‑scale electrical projects.
Work Environment
  • Medium work environment. Indoor and outdoor work with exposure to uncomfortable and hazardous physical, ergonomic, and/or emotional environment. Work requires lifting up to 50 pounds and wearing protective equipment; exposure to environmental conditions, weather, climbing, crawling, lying, and working under pressure.
