Role Summary
The General Laborer 3 role will be responsible for coordinating job site activities which may include site cleanup, loading, unloading, handling and distributing materials, fixtures, running a buck hoist, and traffic control. This position may also be responsible for supervising a team within the laborer scope of work. Role responsibilities are not all encompassing as specific work tasks, project types, and build phases drastically vary.
This is a broad representation of the type of tasks and requirements required of General Laborers at JE Dunn. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision and values of JE Dunn.
Autonomy and Decision-Making: Follows directions and refers all exceptions to supervisor.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core- Assists other skilled trades by loading, unloading, and distributing materials as assigned.
- Assists in dismantling and transporting of construction materials.
- Collects and disposes accumulated trash on and around jobsite on daily basis.
- Performs general cleaning and trash removal for jobsite trailer.
- Cleans and maintains concrete and forming tools.
- Operates pumps and equipment for site dewatering needs.
- Organizes and cleans conex containers and gang boxes daily.
- Responsible for construction gate duty and flagging responsibilities.
- Responsible for accurate material identification and usage of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
- Responsible for operating a buck hoist safely and effectively.
- Assists with demo operations.
- Responsible for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) compliance and following OSHA standards.
- Adheres to all JE Dunn safety standards.

In addition, this position will be responsible for the following:
- Leads by example, instruction and assignment of duties.
- Assists in receiving and properly verifying deliveries.
- Collects and secures all jobsite tools at end of workday.
- Performs basic maintenance on equipment and machinery.
- Responsible for dismantling and transporting construction materials.
- Properly handles and transports materials throughout jobsite.
- Safely performs demo operations as directed by supervisor.
- Schedules, receives, and properly verifies deliveries of materials to jobsites.
- Responsible for completing JE Dunn reports and pre-task planning.
- Responsible for material forecasting for specific task.
- Coordinates and implements safety procedures for tasks.
- Coordinates with foreman and other project supervision on upcoming work and durations.
- Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner
- Effective communication skills, verbal and written
- Knowledge of specific trades and scopes of work
- Ability to provide excellent customer service
- Ability to complete assigned duties with minimal guidance
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, both internally and externally
- High School Diploma or GED (Preferred)
- Apprentice and/or Vocational/Technical/Trade training (Preferred)
- In lieu of the above requirements, equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
- 5+ years experience in a specific trade (Required)
- 5+ years commercial construction experience (Preferred)
- Must be able to lift at least to 50 pounds
- May be exposed to extreme conditions (hot or cold)
- Must be willing work non‑traditional hours to meet project needs
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be comfortable working at projected heights, narrow work spaces, various depths (trenches)
