Hourly Salary Range:
Utilities Services Technician $21.00 - $30.96
Senior Utilities Services Technician $23.17 - $34.18
Principal Utilities Services Technician $25.52 - $37.64
The successful candidate's placement in the salary range will depend upon previous experience in a similar role. The placement shall not exceed the midpoint of the salary range, which is $26.00 per hour for the Technician, $28.65 per hour for the Senior Technician and $31.58 per hour for the Principal Technician.
This position is part of a flexible classification. Qualified candidates may be hired at either level based on their experience, education and training as determined by the hiring authority.

DESCRIPTION
Utilities Services Technician:
Assists with repairs, maintenance and installation of drinking water, wastewater and stormwater conveyance systems and associated infrastructure.
Senior Utilities Services Technician:
Repairs, maintains and installs drinking water, wastewater and stormwater conveyance systems and associated infrastructure.
Principal Utilities Services Technician:
Repairs, maintains and installs drinking water, wastewater and stormwater conveyance systems and associated infrastructure. Performs activities with limited supervisory oversight.
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
* Assists with maintenance, repair and installation of drinking water, wastewater and stormwater conveyance systems and associated infrastructure, including fire hydrants, manholes, valves, pipes, taps and meters.
* Assists with response to customer concerns.
* Responds to water, wastewater and stormwater emergencies under the direct supervision of qualified technician or supervisor.
* Performs routine cleaning and repair of associated infrastructure to ensure minimal interruptions to service.
* Documents activities in asset management and work order systems.
* Assists with interpretation of maps, blueprints and drawings associated with water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure.
* May perform responsibilities of a similar nature and level as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience:
Utilities Services Technician
1 year of experience in general construction, plumbing, HVAC systems or related field.
Senior Utilities Services Technician
1 year of experience in installing, maintaining and operating water and wastewater infrastructure.
Principal Utilities Services Technician
2 years of experience in installing, maintaining and operating water and wastewater infrastructure.
Candidates must have the minimum amount of work experience. Years of experience are based upon a full-time work schedule (2,080 hours per year). The sum of an applicant's full-time and/or part-time qualifying work experience must meet or exceed the stated minimum qualification. Education will not substitute for the required work experience; however, related unpaid and/or volunteer work experience may be used as qualifying work experience.
Education:
All levels
High school diploma or GED.
Professional Licensure and/or
Certifications:
Utilities Services Technician
* Valid driver's license
* Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) Grade 1 Water Distribution Certification obtained within one (1) year of hire.
Senior Utilities Services Technician
* Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with tanker endorsement
* ADEQ Grade 1 Water Distribution Certification
* ADEQ Grade 1 Wastewater Collections Certification
