Nurse Practitioner

Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team. The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will perform bone marrow aspirations and biopsies at contracted client facilities (hospitals and ASC's). The NP has the primary responsibility to serve AC's which have scheduled procedures daily. Beyond that requirement, the NP will assist the group with hospital bone marrow collections when available (typically afternoons).

The primary responsibility of this position is to perform bone marrow biopsies and aspirations. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a clinical setting and will be knowledgeable in all aspects of bone marrow procedures. All employees are responsible for supporting the company’s goals and mission, and for following all Company policies and procedures. This position maintains a variety of confidential records.

• Perform bone marrow biopsies and aspirations, including preparing the patient for the procedure and providing post-procedure care.
• Obtain and interpret bone marrow specimens for diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
• Provide education to patients and families regarding bone marrow procedures, results, and treatments.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to develop treatment plans and provide patient care.
• Document all patient encounters and maintain accurate medical records.
• Stay current with new techniques, procedures, and regulations related to bone marrow procedures.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment and adhere to infection control policies and procedures.
• The NP will act with a sense of urgency and will return calls as soon as possible. Typically, one should receive a response from the NP within an hour.
• Performs other related duties as required.

• Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited institution
• Current state nursing license and certification as a Nurse Practitioner
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a clinical setting, with a focus on bone marrow biopsies and aspirations
• Strong knowledge of bone marrow anatomy, physiology, and pathology
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
• Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations
