Our precision machining capabilities complement our electronic manufacturing expertise, providing advanced metal joining, assembly, and functional testing for medical, instrumentation, aerospace, and semiconductor capital equipment.
Responsibilities- Set up and operate lathes, millers, shapers, grinders, planers, and power drills.
- Work from blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions.
- Perform highly diversified machining operations such as boring, turning, facing, reaming, grinding, milling, and tapering.
- Handle machined parts, forgings, and castings of varying complexity and critical dimensions.
- Determine and maintain proper operational sequences and perform necessary mathematical calculations to complete jobs.
- Select appropriate feeds and speeds for all operations.
- Check own work; typically work to tolerances of +/- 0.00005.
- Read and interpret complex blueprints and manufacture parts from layout drawings without sketches or verbal instructions.
- Perform bench work such as filing, deburring, grinding, lapping, indexing, scraping, and fitting to complete mechanical assemblies.
- Interpret gauges, electro‑limit gauges, and size blocks to verify work.
- Make decisions regarding fits and tolerances as necessary.
- Set up, operate, alter, repair, and plan own work (Level II).
- Use instruments such as air gauges, electro‑limit gauges, and size blocks for complex checking (Level II).
- Maintain quality standards to meet or exceed customer satisfaction (Level II).
- Interpret a variety of written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule instructions.
- Understand manufacturing systems and tooling development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills.
- Effective interpersonal, multitasking, organizational, and prioritization skills.
- Attention to detail and discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism.
- Support a 24/7 global operation as required.
- Work overtime and with diverse groups as needed.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities.
- Physical capabilities as outlined in the job analysis forms.
- 2‑year technical degree (or apprenticeship certificate) preferred or equivalent education and experience.
- Level I – 0 to 3+ years in machining operations.
- Level II – 6+ years in complex machining operations; may include CNC programming.
This position is classified as safety‑sensitive because impairment while performing job duties could pose a significant risk of harm.
Pre‑employment drug screening may include THC testing where permitted by law.
