What does a Quality Technician do at Swire Coca-Cola?

In this role you will be responsible for monitoring, conducting various checks and testing of raw, in-process and finished products/processes, confirming compliance to quality and food safety standards as established by the QA department, internal and regulatory requirements while adhering to standardized company policies and practices.

Schedule:

9:00 PM – 5:30 AM, Mon–Fri and Alternating Weekends (OT as needed)

Job Level: 1

• Uphold all safety practices to prevent injury from unsafe work practices and/or conditions. Report safety hazards to the safety team and management
• Monitor plant sanitation and personal hygiene per GMPs for food processing facilities in CFR (Title 21, part 117) and current company GMP policies
• Perform standardized quality sampling and checks during production; organize data into electronic logbooks/databases and report variances and non-conformities to plant management
• Follow all required work instructions, work aids and forms related to Quality, Environment, Safety and Food Safety
• Support ISO-GFSI compliance, FDA FSMA regulatory requirements, and company quality programs. Stop production if product is out of specification or food safety/compliance breach
• Perform analysis of incoming, in-process and finished materials using analytical procedures (e.g., pH, Titratable Acidity, Brix, Organoleptic, CO2, Density, TDS, Microbiological testing)
• Standardize and calibrate laboratory equipment; troubleshoot systems, equipment and processes
• Assist the Quality Assurance management team with projects as designated
• Actively participate in continuous improvement, lean practices, six sigma, 5S, food safety, environmental and plant safety programs
• Pursue excellence and continuously develop technical and personal skills to achieve a world-class manufacturing environment

• Minimum High School diploma or GED;
  Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field preferred
• Microbiology experience preferred
• 2+ years’ experience in Food Plant Quality Assurance
• 5+ years of production experience may substitute for QA experience or demonstrated proficiency in Quality Systems
• Familiarity with lab safety and handling of hazardous materials
