KPMG is seeking a Senior Associate, KPMG Law to join our practice.
Responsibilities- Play a pivotal role in delivering large-scale, multidisciplinary, and multijurisdictional projects focused on providing high-quality legal services to clients efficiently at scale, with a focus on technology.
- Learn about adjacent service offerings to existing KPMG tax and advisory practices and technologies to be implemented as part of KPMG Law's delivery model.
- Collaborate with diverse teams of professionals at various levels of experience in different subject matters and geographies, including teams from KPMG’s international member firms.
- Leverage KPMG technologies to draft, review, analyze, and advise clients on commercial and corporate law documents at scale; monitor developments in the legal and regulatory environment to ensure contracts remain compliant.
- Support legal managed services engagements which may include high-volume contract review and/or contract data extraction, contract lifecycle management (all or some processes), and claims support and management.
- Seek opportunities to contribute to the broader legal community.
- Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment.
- Minimum two years of recent experience reviewing, drafting, negotiating, and managing general commercial law contractual agreements and corporate law documents preferred.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university; licensed Juris Doctorate or LLM degree from an accredited college/university (active bar license in Arizona).
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills and a willingness to adopt new technologies such as AI and their application to various legal services use cases.
- Self-starter with the ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage assignments in a team environment; comfortable collaborating within KPMG’s high-performance culture.
- Understanding of general commercial contractual agreements and key clauses such as limitation of liability, indemnification, warranties, termination, and related provisions.
- Experience in corporate governance and transactional matters, with familiarity with provisions in corporate agreements (e.g., shareholder rights, board resolutions, fiduciary duties, voting thresholds, change of control, confidentiality).
