Senior Observability Consultant Overview

Looking for a Senior Observability Consultant who will engage in and improve the lifecycle of monitoring and observability tools, monitoring product development and automation, from solution design, deployment, operation, and refinement.

Responsibilities
  • Support systems before they go live through activities such as design consulting, developing software platforms and frameworks, capacity planning, and launch reviews
  • Monitor and maintain tools and platform solutions post-go-live by measuring availability, latency, capacity, and overall system health
  • Scale systems sustainably through automation; evolve systems to improve reliability and velocity
  • Develop monitoring / observability applications and automations, following industry best practices
  • Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems
  • Collaborate with coworkers as a member of an Agile (Scrum) team
  • Develop clear solution documentation with appropriate instructions and knowledge-based articles
  • Develop ITSM Event Management strategy and roadmap including but not limited to alerting best practices; success KPIs and metrics, improvement opportunities and outcomes
  • Drive tool sprawl reduction efforts, operational effectiveness of observability tools
  • Lead discussions and collaboration efforts with stakeholders to design and implement ITOM Event Mgmt service mapping capabilities through effective alerting and routing
  • Ensure stability and quality of SNOW Service Graph integration tools as they pertain to observability tools
  • Lead Observability and Event Management strategy sessions, including projects, stakeholder meetings, and presentations to executive leadership
  • Meet with internal customers to review, evaluate and provide direction for our monitoring and logging solutions.
  • Research and thoroughly study documentation to implement new tools or features of existing tools
  • Evaluates systems specifications regarding customer requirements, transforming specifications into cost-effective, technically correct solutions.
  • Prioritizes work and manages projects within established budget objectives and customer priorities.
  • Responsible for establishing and managing to establish quality control and security protocols.
  • Provides the division, department and business area management with timely and accurate information regarding the status and performance of the assigned project(s).
  • Leverages technology to develop, redesign and / or implement optimal technology solutions.
  • Builds, leverages, and maintains effective alliances across technical and business community.
