Brief Description

This position is responsible for providing excellent patient care and experience in accordance with Mountain Park Health Center’s guiding principles, HIPAA, and any other applicable federal & state laws. The Physical Therapy Technician (PTT) position requires a basic level of knowledge regarding the functions necessary to becoming a PTT.

Essential Functions

• Performs patient intake tasks. Interviews patient to obtain reason for visit, history, and chief complaints; performs vital signs and other patient care needs, documents the same to complete the patient intake process.
• Assists in performing administrative tasks.
• Assists patients with exercises during physical therapy sessions.
• Performs prescribed treatment such as application of modalities as directed.
• Reports and records patient’s exercise and progress for the physical therapist.
• Liaises between patients, physical therapist, physical therapy assistants, and other departments.
• Maintains proper levels of supplies in treatment areas.
• Maintains therapy equipment before and after each session.
• Fulfills provider orders within scope of practice and provides patients’ discharge instructions.
• Assists with coordinating the continuity of patient care with internal health departments.
• Identifies and reports any safety hazard, or potential hazard, by directly notifying supervisory staff immediately of concerns.
• Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
• Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Current CPR Certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous PTT clinical experience.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English or Somali/English)
