🚀 Controller | Hands‑On Finance Leader Wanted

This is a high‑impact leadership role overseeing all accounting, payroll, cash flow, compliance, and financial reporting across a growing, multi‑entity organization.
💼 What You’ll Be DoingAs Controller, you’ll own the financial engine of the business:
Accounting & Financial Operations- Lead all transactional accounting functions including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger
- Oversee weekly payroll
- Manage daily banking activity including ACH, wires, and checks
- Ensure timely collections, deposits, and vendor payments (yes—capturing discounts!)
- Direct monthly and annual close
, ensuring accuracy and timeliness - Prepare and present monthly financial statements and variance analysis
- Establish, document, and maintain strong internal controls
- Protect company assets through disciplined cash management and policies
- Ensure compliance with all tax, regulatory, benefits, ESOP, 401(k), and loan covenant requirements
- Oversee relationships with external CPAs, banks, lenders, legal, insurance, and benefits providers
- Ensure appropriate commercial insurance coverage across the organization
- Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing forecasting
- Manage cash flow, debt payments, and savings
- Provide leadership with data‑driven insights to support strategic decisions
- Act as a trusted financial partner to managers and cross‑functional teams
- Build, lead, and develop a high‑performing accounting team
- Recruit, train, coach, and mentor accounting staff
- Maintain SOPs and documentation for all critical financial processes
- Foster collaboration and financial literacy across the organization
- 10+ years of accounting/finance experience, including 5+ years in leadership roles (Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager)
- Strong, hands‑on experience across all areas of accounting
- Proven ability to improve processes and automate workflows
- Experience working with multiple legal entities
- Solid background in budgeting, financial reporting, and analysis
- ERP system experience
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel matters here 📊)
- Strong communicator with excellent attention to detail and sound judgment
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration (required)
