About the Role

We are seeking a Field Applications Engineer to provide technical expertise to support our building product systems. This role serves as the technical bridge between engineering, manufacturing, project management, and field teams, ensuring products integrate correctly into construction projects and perform as designed. The ideal candidate has a background in engineering, building systems, architectural products, or technical product support and enjoys solving real-world technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Engineering Support

• Review product designs, architectural drawings, and installation requirements.
• Evaluate product application challenges and develop practical engineering solutions.
• Provide technical guidance to project teams, installers, and customers.

Product & Manufacturing Collaboration

• Work with engineering and manufacturing teams to improve product performance and manufacturability.
• Assist with product validation, testing, and documentation.
• Contribute feedback from field conditions to support product improvements.

Field Technical Support

• Conduct site visits (~15% travel) to review installations and resolve technical challenges.
• Diagnose field issues and recommend corrective solutions.
• Provide technical expertise during complex or non-standard installations.

Customer & Partner Support

• Serve as a technical resource for contractors, installers, and distribution partners.
• Provide product training and best practices.
• Support warranty evaluations and technical documentation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with project managers, quality teams, and engineering groups.
• Communicate field insights to improve product design and performance.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field (OR equivalent experience).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read technical drawings or architectural plans.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills.

Preferred

• Experience with building products, glazing systems, doors, or architectural hardware
• Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, Solid Works, etc.)
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes or engineered products
• Experience supporting construction or installation teams in a technical capacity
