About the Role
We are seeking a Telecommunications Systems Engineer to support and lead telecom design scopes on complex industrial, semiconductor, and data center projects. This role will serve as a telecom scope lead, collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver fully coordinated design packages.
You will support the design of structured cabling, outside plant (OSP), backbone systems, communication rooms, and network infrastructure using 2D and 3D BIM tools.
Pay: $38.00- $53.00 per hour DOEKey Responsibilities
Lead telecommunications design for small to medium projects
Develop structured cabling, OSP, backbone distribution, and communication room layouts
Produce coordinated 2D drawings and 3D BIM models (Revit/AutoCAD)
Ensure designs comply with NEC, TIA, BICSI, and industry standards
Support estimating, scheduling, and construction documentation
Interface directly with clients and multidisciplinary engineering teams
Two-year technical degree or four-year degree
4+ years of telecommunications design experience
Knowledge of TIA standards, BICSI design practices, and NEC (NFPA 70)
Experience leading telecom design efforts
Experience with project estimating and scheduling
Experience in semiconductor or data center projects
Project management experience
Working knowledge of Revit (3D BIM)
Experience with paging, intercom, AV, and network topology
RCDD, DCDC, OSP, RTPM, or related certifications
