We are seeking an experienced BIM Modeler III to join our VDC Engineering team to support project teams by creating and maintaining accurate 3D models from engineering drawings, updating existing models, entering data (parameters, properties), generating basic documentation (plans, sections), adhering to company BIM standards, and learning coordination software like Revit and Navisworks. This role will work under the guidance of senior modelers or BIM Leads while building foundational modeling and collaboration skills.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate between 2D shop drawings, construction documents, and 3D models to ensure alignment and accuracy.
- Develop accurate and detailed 3D Revit models for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, ensuring proper routing, clearances, and constructability.
- Apply company BIM and VDC standards to ensure consistent modeling practices, proper file organization, and model quality control.
- Create plans, sections, elevations, sheets, views, and details to support design documentation, shop drawings, coordination packages, and field installation.
- Collaborate with project engineers, senior modelers, and VDC team members to support accurate and timely deliverables.
- Incorporate feedback and design changes efficiently from project engineers and VDC leadership.
- Maintain model integrity through version control, updates, and accurate as-built documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist with model-based quantity takeoffs and support preconstruction and fabrication efforts as needed.
- 4+ years of Revit experience with a focus on MEP or architectural modeling.
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and building systems.
- Experience working with LOD 250 and higher models, including the ability to build and manage complex model elements.
- Familiarity with clash detection, coordination workflows, and Navisworks.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural drawings to model accurately.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multiple disciplines and stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Experience working on data center, commercial, or industrial projects, preferred.
- Knowledge of fabrication-level modeling, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or other related software tools, preferred.
