Your impact as a Transportation Engineer or Planner will involve working on exciting, large‑scale infrastructure projects across a diverse range of sectors.
KeySectors and Opportunities
- Rail and Transit Multimodal facilities, automated guideways, paratransit systems, bus facilities and depots, aerial, at‑grade, and underground stations, elevated structures, tunnels, and line structures.
- Bridges and Tunnels – comprehensive design, construction management, and inspection services.
- Highways and Roads – planning, design, and maintenance.
- Aviation – services related to airport infrastructure and operations.
- Ports and Maritime – port planning, capital projects, maintenance, container terminals, intermodal integration, jetties, quays, and coastal defense schemes.
- Assist in the preparation of planning studies, alternative analyses, impact assessments, and technical reports.
- Support planners in multi‑modal corridor planning, asset and fleet management plans, and operational improvement initiatives.
- Conduct site investigations, perform engineering calculations, develop design drawings using CAD software, prepare technical specifications, and contribute to environmental impact assessments.
- Participate in roadway alignment design, traffic signal timing, bridge structural analysis, or transit system capacity studies under the direction of a project manager or senior planner.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Transportation/Urban Planning, or related engineering fields.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within a year of hire.
- Familiarity with CADD/Design software (preferably AutoCAD, Micro Station, Open Roads, Geopak).
- Strong self‑motivation, problem‑solving, and team‑oriented work practices with excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Authorization to work within the United States without the need for sponsorship, now or in the future.
- Previous internship or project experience in transportation planning or engineering, including conducting traffic impact studies, preparing preliminary engineering reports for roadway and transit infrastructure projects, evaluating transportation system efficiency, and/or analyzing traffic flow patterns and multimodal networks.
