RoleSummary
The Mechanical Estimator will complete increasingly complex mechanical and field construction activities. This position will be responsible for collecting and assembling data, developing estimates, and generating systems analysis and bid review, all in support of the company’s strategy, vision, and values.
Key Role Responsibilities – Core- Learns and actively participates in all safety and quality plans, demonstrating a commitment to an injury‑free environment and mentoring others.
- Completes entry‑level and routine mechanical and field construction activities.
- Develops budgetary M/E estimates based on program and schematic design information using an automated M/E estimating system.
- Reviews mechanical options as part of the preconstruction process and performs systems analysis for select projects.
- Develops mechanical scopes of work for bid coordination.
- Assists in bid analysis and contributes to subcontractor selection.
- Develops sequencing requirements for systems and provides solutions to meet schedule demands.
- Reviews design documents to identify potential quality problems and supports constructability reviews.
- Inspects jobs to ensure specifications and expectations are met, maintaining quality and timeliness.
- Supports shop drawing and submittal processes in compliance with contract documents.
- Assists with commissioning, developing pre‑functional checklists, testing procedures, and functional testing.
- Advocates and maintains a culture of diversity and inclusion, ensuring non‑discrimination practices.
In addition, this position will be responsible for the following:
- Completing complex mechanical and field construction activities.
- Developing budgetary M/E estimates based on program and schematic design information.
- Reviewing mechanical options, performing systems analysis, recommending the best system, and providing value‑engineering suggestions.
- Coordinating mechanical and electrical scopes during the bid process.
- Developing sequencing requirements of various systems, providing scheduling input, and meeting schedule requirements.
- Reviewing design documents for quality, helping develop quality control programs.
- Performing job inspections at various project phases to ensure specification compliance.
- Developing pre‑functional checklists and functional test procedures, verifying contractor performance.
- Approving shop drawings before submission to the design team.
- Generating and issuing the commissioning plan for approval to appropriate parties.
- Verifying deficiencies are corrected and submitting commissioning documentation to owners.
- Providing mentoring to less experienced co‑workers.
- Creating M/E tools and innovations to continuously improve processes and products.
- Advocating diversity and inclusion, ensuring non‑discrimination policies are enacted.
