Position

Description

This position is responsible for overseeing the development of a 150 mm wafer line based on QCi's thin film lithium niobate (TELN) technology. The successful candidate will work in close collaboration with both the process development and integration team as well as the quantum optics team to develop and continuously improve high volume manufacturing processes for our TFLN products. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, deploying and optimizing processes for manufacturing TFLN devices to achieve safety, quality, cost, and delivery goals for QCi and its customer products.

The candidate will work closely with a team of process engineers and technicians to continuously improve their workflow with the goal of enhancing yield of TFLN devices and creating robust manufacturing processes. Furthermore, the candidate will work closely with the environmental health and safety team to manage chemical inventory and hazardous waste, conducting risk assessments and creating a safety-first culture at QCi.

Duties

and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for collaborating with multiple stakeholders in the company to implement QCi's customers' technical requirements, roadmap and related process development projects.
  • Work closely with the process team in the cleanroom to optimize the fabrication flow of TFLN chips.
  • Facilitate the transition of research level chip scale production to low to middle volume manufacture at wafer scale.
  • Improve the in-line yield.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing cost-costed and optimized feedback using Design for Manufacturability (DFX) tools and processes, with the goal of reducing manufacturing cost and improving quality and reliability of product.
  • Develop, plan and lead the assessment of the capability of processing applications using Design of Experiments.
  • Devise process controls and data collection strategies and evaluate complex data to assist with reporting yield, reliability and diagnoses to root causes failures impacting product quality.
  • Ensure accurate and timely communication to management on critical technical and business issues.
Required Skills and Experience
  • 5-8+ years of experience in the Process Development and New Product Leadership.
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related fields.
  • Knowledge of EPA, OSHA and SEMI regulations and standards in particular as they relate to semiconductor manufacturing environments and process engineering.
  • Demonstrated ability creating, administering and managing employee process programs of developing, implementing, controlling, and continuously improving manufacturing yields.
  • Technical proficiency with process statistical management systems and computer software, such as Microsoft Office, statistical factory controls, and electrical product controls.
  • Demonstrated experience in leadership, maintaining standards, and driving a culture of innovation.
  • Basic understanding of the photonics integrated circuits field and their measurement techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 10+ years' experience in the Process development and process integration leadership and new product development.
  • Masters Degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related fields.
  • Experience in integrated photonics foundry or related fields.
  • Experience working in a semiconductor manufacturing environment or experience working with manufacturing / industrial engineering environments.
  • Experience working with 5S, 6 Sigma, and SPC programs.
