Job Summary

Career Services seeks a motivated, creative, and organized graduate-level Management Intern to support initiatives focused on engaging families as partners in student career readiness. The role involves planning, organizing, and implementing family-facing communications, programming, and content to help families understand how to support their students’ career development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of family-focused career programming (virtual and in-person).
  • Support the development and organization of family communications, including emails, newsletters, web content, and digital resources related to career readiness.
  • Craft, edit, and proofread career-related content for a family audience in alignment with ASU brand standards.
  • Monitor and track engagement metrics for articles, emails, and posts.
  • Analyze engagement data and summarize insights to inform recommendations for improving content and outreach strategies.
  • Maintain project trackers, timelines, and content calendars to support ongoing family engagement initiatives.
  • Assist with the ideation, coordination, and writing of articles or spotlights for family-facing platforms.
  • Collaborate with Career Services staff and campus partners to ensure consistent messaging and effective outreach to families.
Professional Development & Learning Outcomes
  • Design and support family-focused career readiness programming (virtual and in-person).
  • Develop, edit, and manage family-facing communications, including newsletters, emails, web content, and digital resources.
  • Apply content strategy and storytelling principles to translate career readiness concepts for a family audience.
  • Track and analyze engagement metrics and synthesize insights to inform outreach improvements.
  • Manage project timelines, content calendars, and workflow tools to support consistent and effective family engagement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional campus partners to ensure aligned messaging and coordinated outreach.
  • Adapt messaging and approaches to support inclusive, culturally responsive engagement with diverse families.
Qualifications
  • Enrollment as a graduate student in a closely related field (e.g., higher education, communications, marketing, English, management, student affairs).
  • Knowledge of marketing, communications, or engagement strategies.
  • Knowledge of AP writing style and/or experience writing for public-facing audiences.
  • Basic knowledge of project management principles.
  • Experience organizing resources, managing timelines, and establishing priorities.
  • Experience planning, organizing, or coordinating programs or events.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience using personal computers and related software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, content management or analytics tools).
Experience Requirements

High School Diploma and two (2) years of appropriate experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and/or training that demonstrates comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Living & Working Conditions
  • Travel to off-campus events and other ASU campuses may be required; driving your own vehicle may be necessary.
  • Work location is primarily at the Tempe campus.
  • This is a 20-hour per week position and may include some nights and weekends, with flexible days and hours based on programming and communication timelines.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk moderate distances, and handle physical demands such as bending, reaching, lifting up to 25 pounds.
